Il Mito East, in the Knickerbocker Hotel, will open Monday, Feb. 18. The space at 1028 E. Juneau Ave., which previously housed Osteria del Mondo, has been remodeled to create a warmer, cozier feel.

Chef Michael Feker says that, like its sister restaurant, Il Mito Trattoria e Enoteca, 6913 W. North Ave., the restaurant will serve Mediterranean inspired fare including pasta and pizza.

However, the emphasis for the Il Mito East location will be small plates, which will include grilled black angus beef tenderloin served atop grilled tomato and turmeric risotto ($6.95), Roasted seasonal vegetable risotto cakes (5.95), and lemon-scented, hand-made meatballs served over creamy pecorino polenta (5.95).

Gluten-free options will also be available.

Restaurant hours will be Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Fridays from 11 a.m. to midnight, Saturdays from 10 a.m. to midnight, and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.  Brunch will be served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Valet parking is available.  View the full menu online.
