Hungry for a doughnut? How about a doughnut filled with ice cream and topped with caramel sauce? Or hot fudge? Or honey marshmallow cream?
Indulgence Chocolatiers has your number. They’ll be rolling out their new doughnut ice cream sandwiches as a weekend-only special at their East Tosa location at 6538 W. North Ave.
The "Cranky Sammie," is comprised of a Cranky Al’s yeast doughnut filled with any of 16 flavors of Purple Door ice cream and topped with any number of Indulgence original toppings. The cost is $6.50 for a doughnut sandwich with one topping; additional toppings are $1 each.

The ice cream sandwiches will be available, while supplies last, on Saturdays and Sundays only, beginning April 30. The offering is currently just for a special limited time; however, if demand is strong, owner Brian Waterman says that they might keep the Cranky Sammie on the weekend menu as a regular offering.
"We’re particularly excited about this new donut ice cream sandwich because of the collaboration it involves with other local businesses: Cranky Al’s, which is a Tosa institution, and Purple Door with its popular ice creams," says Waterman.
"Each of the three businesses represented in the Cranky Sammie make delicious sweets on their own, but putting all those sweets together into a single menu item makes a pretty amazing local dessert."
Indulgence is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.
