With an impressive 14-year career, nine studio albums and 20-plus No. 1 hits, Jason Aldean’s resume is practically unmatched in country music. So it’s no surprise that fans ignored Milwaukee’s early forecast and made their way to the American Family Insurance Amphitheater to see Aldean perform live.

So if a Jason Aldean concert is your kinda party, then you may not have to read on, but in case you need a little convincing, we have compiled some of our top reasons that you shouldn’t have missed out on the "Big Green Tractor" singer’s headlining Summerfest show, part of his 30-plus city "Ride All Night Tour." 

Here are our six reasons why you shouldn’t have missed Aldean’s Summerfest concert at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater.

1. The rain stayed home

Mother nature must be an Aldean fan, because although the threat of rain and thunderstorms loomed over the Summerfest grounds on Friday evening, the rain stayed home and the show went on as planned. As the hits kept pouring in, the rain did not, and fans were more than grateful.

The forecast for the rest of Summerfest doesn’t look particularly dry for the rest of the festival so country music fans had every reason to come ride all night with Aldean, whether they had a covered seat or were watching from the lawn.

2. No work in the morning

Midway through his headlining performance, Aldean expressed his love for Friday night shows, telling the crowd, "You can wake up with a hangover, nobody has to go to work, it's fun!" To no surprise, this was a sentiment that the tipsy crowd could get behind as they raised they Miller Lites.

Aldean then treated the crowd with performances of songs like "Drowns the Whisky" and "My Kinda Party" to really drive home his motto for the weekend.

3. Kane Brown

Aldean wasn’t the only talented country star on Friday night’s lineup as the Georgia native was joined by rising star Kane Brown for an opening set. Brown performed cuts from his self-titled debut as well as his 2018 LP "Experiment." There was no experimenting on Friday night though, as Brown’s set was well rehearsed and polished, and even included his own production complete with a massive staircase and platform. 

Brown’s rapid growth is highlighted by his RIAA certifications, AMA awards and Billboard success, but his ability to crush his set while performing for a headliner’s crowd was equally as impressive. A personal highlight of Brown’s performance came as he performed his 2016 track, "Used to Love You Sober," a song which Brown described on Friday as the one that got him to Nashville and got him a record deal.

4. Aldean is the ACM "Artist of the Decade"

In recognition of his ability to put on memorable performances, Aldean consistently took home the Academy of Country Music’s "Entertainer of the Year" award throughout the past half decade. Taking things to a completely new level, this year Aldean also received the AMC’s "Dick Clark Artist of the Decade" award, an honor that only five artists before him had received. 

It didn’t take long to realize why his performances are so acclaimed. Aldean worked the entire crowd with high levels of energy from start to finish. His setlist was carefully crafted, he interacted with his audience and while nothing during Friday’s show was out of this world, he did everything you’d want from a country superstar and then some. Aldean is well deserving of any accolade that rewards exceptional live performers.

5. Carly Pearce

With so much testosterone on stage at the Amphitheater last night, the evening needed some contrast with a beautiful opening set from Carly Pearce to kick off the night.

Pearce isn’t your average opener either, as the "Closer To You" singer is on a short list of the biggest up and coming female artists in country music. Just a few small steps behind the Maren Morris and Kelsea Ballerini’s of the world, Pearce is on her way to becoming a staple of country radio. Her performance on Friday gave fans a taste of what they can expect from the rest of her catalog, with songs like "Hide The Wine" and her number one debut single, "Every Little Thing."

6. He performed over a decade of hits

Between songs, Aldean addressed his massive crowd on Friday to give fans an itinerary for the evening. Aldean of course plugged his "Rearview Town" and told the crowd that they would be able to enjoy much of the new album live, but also foreshadowed the over a decade of hits that fans would hear throughout the night. 

From his 2005 debut to his 2018 LP, Aldean performed bits and pieces from his entire discography. Of the endless number of hits and number one records that Aldean had to choose from, songs like "Big Green Tractor," "My Kinda Party," "Amarillo Sky," "She’s Country" and more all made the setlist for Friday night’s performance. 

In total, Aldean stayed true to his "Ride All Night Tour" by performing 24 songs for the evening, giving fans more than they bargained for and a reason to come out and see him live whenever he returns to Milwaukee – whether it be on a weekend night or a Tuesday evening. The next morning’s hangover will be worth it no matter what day of the week it is.
