Pigs aplenty! Pigs galore! There's more pork per seat than any other restaurant in the nation. No, not on the customers, but the ribs. Forty tons, that's right, 40 tons of slow-cooked baby back ribs fly out of the bustling Germantown restaurant each year, and Jerry's takes a back seat to no one when it comes to selling platters full of barbecue ribs.
Country charm to the max. The century-old building has a log cabin texture. Hardwood tables and chairs are built for comfort not for speed, and the porker motif runs rampant with pigs of all shapes and sizes decorating the dining room. Stupid bibs, stainless steel bone buckets and mountains of wetnaps attempt to keep some semblance of order here during the nightly feeding frenzy. If you're searching for a quiet and intimate evening, turn around and head out the door. Serious eating is not pretty and the motto here is "Sauce on your face is no disgrace!"
Did someone say ribs? Slow cooked and sauced with your choice of the smoky original, spicy Cajun or sweet Jamaican jerk are what keeps the tables turning at warp speed. Steer tenderloin, hickory smoked chicken and pork tenderloin are served by themselves or in combination with a half rack of ribs. All dinners include a crock of baked French onion soup, a loaf of bread out of the oven and a one pound baked potato. The hand-dipped onion rings are some of the city's best. Last time we looked, no one was leaving this place hungry.
Carnivores of all shapes and sizes make the pilgrimage to the Holy Rib. This place rocks every night, The early bird special at 4 p.m. brings Grandma and Grandpa in to give the dentures a workout.
