"Halloween." "The Thing." "Big Trouble in Little China." "Escape from New York." John Carpenter is the man behind some of the world's most beloved films – featuring some of its most beloved soundtracks, as well. And this morning, we found out the famed director will come to Milwaukee's Pabst Theater to talk about – and perform – both.

This morning, The Pabst announced Carpenter would perform a live retrospective on Monday, July 18, performing themes old and new, familiar and previously unheard.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. show go on sale Friday, April 8 at noon, ranging in price from $45.50 to $65.50. In the meantime, listen to this synth glory from "The Thing."
