His travel summary, posted on his Web site, has many wonderful things to say about Brew City. Granted, he was invited here by Visit Milwaukee, but the words he writes seem to be from the heart, “Meet the new ambassador, without portfolio, for the city of Milwaukee, in residence in New York City- me. The city has more parkland per resident than any other city in the US. It is the cleanest big city I have ever seen,” he writes.
Kapon ate at Bacchus, Glorioso Brothers, Coast, Coquette, Sciortino’s and other places. He compares the Third Ward to Soho and says to be sure not to “confuse it with Old World Third Street.” He pokes a little fun at the weather flame atop the Wisconsin Gas Building, but overall raves about his time in Milwaukee.

In other news, The Pabst Theater was featured in today’s edition of the Chicago Tribune. In a story called "Get rollin’, then get rockin’," writer Louis R. Carlozo talked about the historic theater while also mentioning four other "pop music venues that beckon beyond the borders of sweet home Chicago" He writes, “The Pabst, which dates to 1895, is every bit as dazzling as the Chicago Theatre--perhaps more so. Not only a National Historic Landmark, but also a vibrant, 1300-seat venue that hosts important pop and rock acts on a non-stop basis.”

A life-long and passionate community leader and Milwaukeean, Jeff Sherman is a co-founder of OnMilwaukee.
