Thank goodness the preseason is over. Here are some quick impressions from the Packers 35-21 loss to Tennessee:

Sterling Sharpe caught 55 passes as a rookie. Greg Jennings could top that. He looks special.

With only nine carries in the preseason and coming off a major injury, Ahman Green can't be expected to carry a full load early in the season. Who is your No. 2 running back? Samkon Gado, Najeh Davenport, Noah Herron or Arliss Beach? That decision and the roster moves surrounding it may very well be the toughest and most important calls general manager Ted Thompson and head coach Mike McCarthy face this weekend.

Aaron Rodgers still has plenty of rough edges and has to work on his composure when things go wrong. With a young offensive line, there will be adversity. Rodgers also needs to have better ball security.

I'd be tempted to keep just two quarterbacks on the roster and put Ingle Martin on the practice squad. What's he done to earn a roster spot?

If Chad Clifton gets injured, the Packers' already shaky offensive line will totally unravel. Darryn Colledge is not ready.

Jon Ryan locked up the punting job with a strong performance.

The Packers' punt return coverage was extremely poor. A young roster usually has terrible special teams.

I'm still somewhat nervous about the kicking situation. Dave Rayner hasn't attempted a field goal in a preseason game from beyond 30 yards. I don't like the fact that his first pressure kick could come with the game on the line in the regular season.

Even though Cory Rodgers was a fourth-round pick, I don't know how you can keep him when he can't catch punts. Maybe you can hope that you can sneak him through waivers and put him on the practice squad for seasoning. I'd go with Jennings on punt returns with Charles Woodson the second choice.

On a team starved for pass rushers, rookie Jason Hunter should certainly make the squad and perhaps get in the defensive line rotation.

Cornerback Jason Horton may have played his way out of a roster spot.

Linebacker Roy Manning may have held on to his spot with a second-half push.

How can Rich Gannon say "The Packers know what they have in Charles Woodson?" Maybe they know what they have in Al Harris, but if the Packers don't have at least a few questions about Woodson after that Bengals game, they're deluding themselves. Having said that, I have a feeling Woodson will make  a big play or two in the first month of the regular season.

Cuts will come Saturday. Then it's on to Bears' week for the opener Sept. 10 at Lambeau. It's so much better when the games mean something.
