For some, this is hello. For others, this is hello again.

For 19 years, I’ve been a part of the Milwaukee sports broadcasting scene.  I spent 16 years at Channel 4 and I continue to do the Packers Radio Network pre-game show and color analysis for home games on the Milwaukee Bucks Radio Network.

I grew up in Hartford and attended UW-Oshkosh. With the exception of a three-year stint working in Peoria, Ill. from 1984-’87, I’ve lived in Wisconsin all of my life. I know what sports means in this state and I’ve covered it long enough to hopefully have some knowledge. I certainly have some strong opinions and I will share them. I tend to lean toward depth and perspective rather than mindless overreactions. That’s who I am and that won’t change—no matter the medium.

I’m attracted to onmilwaukee.com for several reasons. I’ve been a fan of the Web site and I’m impressed with what Andy Tarnoff and Jeff Sherman have already built and what they’re continuing to build with their talented staff. The hiring of Drew Olson caught my eye because I’ve known and respected Drew for years. I’ve noticed in my own life that my thirst for information these days leads me to the web more than any other source.

I’ve always enjoyed writing.  I was doing a blog at Channel 4 more than five years ago before I’d even heard the word.  I’m looking forward to contributing to OnMilwaukee.com and interacting with you. Just so we’re clear from the start. Sometimes I’ll be writing about sports, but sometimes I won’t.  The beauty of this medium is that there’s more personal freedom. I plan to take advantage of that.

Whether it’s hello or hello again, this is going to be fun.
