Earlier today, Bierstadt Lagerhaus, a craft brewery in Denver, Col., challenged Milwaukee’s Lakefront Brewery with a baseball-themed wager.
"We just visited their brewery while at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver. Great people, fun brewery. And now it grows …" says Michael Stodola, the brand manager for Lakefront.
The folks at Biershadt proposed via Facebook that if the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Colorado Rockies during the upcoming five-game series, they will replace their Slow Pour Pils on tap in their tap room, called the Rackhouse Pub, and sell Lakefront Pils for a day while their entire staff rocks Brewers gear.
The flip side, of course, is that if the Brewers lose (which they won’t, duh) the Bierstadt staff will travel to the Lakefront Brewery and pour the Slow Pils Pour – into their glassware no less – while the entire Lakefront staff wears Rockies apparel.
Lakefront Brewery accepted the challenge.
"The Brewers are clearly playing at the top of their game at the moment. Our enthusiasm and character – not to mention skills – will be the difference in this Brewers victory. Besides, we're betting Beirstadt Lagerhaus BEER. Brewers know BEER," says Stodola.
You can follow this challenge on Lakefront’s Facebook page.
MillerCoors also has a wager going. Check out that here.
