National Lavender Day was technically on July 9. I'm guessing this is the first you're hearing about that, though, so let's celebrate lavender – whether the scent, the color, the flavor or Matilda's best friend – a second time this month with Falls Lavender Fest on Saturday, June 20.

Hosted from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Village Park (N87W16749 Garfield Dr.) in Menomonee Falls, the fourth annual Falls Lavender Fest will celebrate all things lavandula – including showcasing six Wisconsin lavender farms throughout the day as well as more than 140 vendors offering lavender art, lavender jewelry, lavender bath and body products, lavender-hued clothing items and lavender-flavored food and drink, including Metro Harvest Church's lavender lemonade.

For those saying that's too much lavender, there's no such thing as too much lavender ... but also the vendors will offer nifty items in other shades as well. And for those not wanting to lunch on lavender, the festival will also host a beer garden and a number of food trucks serving up tasty, normally colored dishes and drinks like tacos, brats, barbecue plates, sliders, bubble tea, beer, wine and more.

For kids in attendance, the Falls Lavender Fest will offer free face painting, balloon animals and a splash pad in case of scorching summer heat. And as for older attendees, jam out to live music throughout the day – including Caravan at 10 a.m. as well as Chicken Wire Empire at 2 p.m. (No word yet on if their setlists will just be covers of Taylor Swift's "Lavender Haze" for an hour.)

Stop by the B93.3 tent and grab your pupper a bandana for our upcoming Bark & BBQ event on Oct. 5 at the H-D Museum

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
