This week, the Waukesha County Museum announced the creation of the Les Paul Experience Artist Advisory Board.
The 22-member board is comprised of musicians, recording engineers, producers, music journalists, and corporate partners from
around the country and will serve as a "brain trust" of visionaries who support the growth and development of the Les Paul Experience
at the Waukesha County Museum.
The co-chairs of the board are Les Paul’s son, Rusty Paul, and Steve Miller of The Steve Miller Band. Other members include Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top, Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Henry Juszkiewicz, CEO of Gibson Guitar Corp., Sam Llanas, co-founder of The BoDeans, David Silbaugh, talent buyer for Summerfest, and other prominent music industry professionals.
The board was integral in the approval of the museum’s "Les Paul: The Wizard of Waukesha," exhibit which is set to open to the
public on June 9, 2013 on what would have been Paul’s 98th birthday.
"Having such an elite group of music industry experts to rely on in our planning has been a wonderful asset," said museum President and CEO Kirsten Lee Villegas. "Their input, advice, and connections in the music community have proven invaluable to our current and future planning."
