Well, here's a delightful and sunny way to start the weekend early: Milwaukee R&B/soul singer (and OnMilwaukee contributor) Lex Allen today released the music video for his new song "Let Go," and it might just be the extra burst of positivity and happiness you need to get you to 5 p.m. today. (Or whenever you get off work.)

The video follows Allen as he pedals around the city on a bike covered in beamingly colorful fur and flowers (I need to see some Bublr bikes looking like this ASAP), singing his equally bright tune while spinning through the streets of Milwaukee's neighborhoods and making friends before putting on a happy show at Zocalo in Walker's Point. And Milwaukee, you look REAL good in this video. Allen, along with the clip's directors Ryan Bingham and Josh Halverson, captured some really gorgeous shots of the city – and not just the usual expected places – while spotlighting Milwaukee's bright and beautiful diversity.

Bummed you missed out on the show at the end of the clip? You're in luck, as Lex Allen will perform a special pop-up concert tonight from 7-9 p.m. at This Is It to debut the new video and then perform a few tracks live. The event is a 21-and-over show with no cover – and This Is It will keep its happy hour rolling through to 9 p.m. to keep the good vibes going.

And stay tuned for more good vibes and great music coming from Allen soon ...

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
