Punk rockers Handsome Devil and Lit visit The Rave, 2401 W. Wisconsin Ave., tonight for an 8 p.m., all-ages show.
Handsome Devil prides itself on devil-style rock and roll, the kind that leaves blood on the stage. They enjoy the life of the rock star and live it to the fullest. But they are also focused on their music. "We wanted our record to sound huge and, at the same time, still have the raw energy of our live show," explained lead singer Danny Walker.
The group counts The Clash, Ozzy, The Beatles, The Descendants and two Elvises (Presley and Costello) among its heroes. They aren't looking to change the world; they just want to rock really hard and entertain the kids.
Lit, who, like Handsome Devil hail from Orange County, California, got together in 1990. They released their debut album, "Tripping the Light Fantastic," in 1997. Thanks to massive popularity on college radio, RCA picked them up.
In 1999 the band released "A Place in the Sun." The song "My Own Worst Enemy" was an instant hit and Lit toured with The Offspring, No Doubt and Garbage. Their most recent release is last year's "Atomic."
General admission tickets are $14. They can be purchased at The Rave Box Office up until showtime. For more information call (414) 342-RAVE or visit www.therave.com.
