Hi folks and welcome back. It's Milwaukee and the music just does not stop. Every week is filled with a plethora of local live options and this last week of September is certainly no exception. There are some big shows going on, so pay attention.
Holy Mary Motor Club has been a Milwaukee band for well over a decade and it's still going strong. The band opens for The Black Lips -- another band that is doing quite well for itself, both on the local and national level -- on Saturday, Sept. 29 at The Mad Planet.
On the East Side that very same night a bunch of musicians have banded together for a very important show to benefit breast cancer research. Kid, You'll Move Mountains, Clementine, Fable & the World Flat and From the Headline hit up the Miramar for an all-ages show. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the music starts at 7 p.m.
It's that time of the month again for Circle A Café. The last weekend of every month is what's known as a "binge party weekend" at the small Riverwest venue, with bands and DJs playing Thursday through Sunday night. This Saturday Milwaukee's The Reverse kick off the show for Minneapolis guests STNNNG and The Blind Shake. It's a Live at 8 p.m. gig and this one will fill up fast, so get there early.
Saturday is quite the night here in the Mil. Disguised as Birds take the stage at Points East Pub with Asrava and Self Evident. Here is the Birds' "Birdhouse Constellations" -- take a listen to get a taste of what musical treats await you come Saturday night.
