As usual, the Locust Street Festival will kick off with its annual Riverwest Beer Run or Walk, running a 1.8-mile route through the neighborhood with four required beer stops (Nessun Dorma, Lakefront RBC, Falcon Bowl and Dino's) along the way.
Because running, like everything else in life, is better with beer. Early registration is currently underway through June 1, costing $22 and coming complete with a free Beer Run T-shirt. Day of race registration costs $25. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m., while the race starts at 11:30 a.m.
For those who prefer their drinking without all of that messy running, there will be plenty of beer available, as well as food and art vendors to take in. For a lineup of the food and art vendors scheduled, visit the Locust Street Festival website.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
