’Tis Dining Month, the tastiest time of year! This means we’re dishing up fun and fascinating food content throughout October. Dig in, Milwaukee! OnMilwaukee Dining Month is served up by Potawatomi Hotel & Casino and Wollersheim Winery & Distillery.

Last week at a very special Lori Lab event, OnMilwaukee Squad members (and a few lucky contest winners) got a first taste of a very special new offering from Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria.

The Chicago-based, family–owned pizzeria has served up many-a variation on its beloved Chicago-style deep dish pizza over the past 50+ years. But, for the first time ever, Lou Malnati’s is introducing their first ever white pizza And it will make its debut today, Oct. 10, with availability through the end of the year.

Lou’s White Pizza is a delectable pie featuring a Malnati family recipe for Louie Cream Sauce along with mushrooms, spinach, red onions and extra Wisconsin mozzarella cheese.  The pie is available with guests’ choice of either deep dish or thin crust.

“While we always have our time-tested favorites, we’re really excited to share this delicious family cream sauce recipe for the first time with a classic mix of complementary toppings,” says Marc Malnati, owner, a second generation family member who proudly carries on the family tradition. “We’re really excited to hear what our customers think of the new white pizza and can’t wait for everyone to try it.”

For what it's worth, the consensus from attendees of the Lori Lab last Wednesday was that the new pizza is delicious!

As of today, the Lou’s White Pizza is available at all five Milwaukee-area Lou Malnati’s locations:

  • Brookfield, 15795 W. Bluemound Rd.; 414-930-4500  (dine-in, carry-out, delivery)

More about Lori Lab & Squad membership

This year, OnMilwaukee launched its first-ever membership program. First of all, it’s not a paywall. We want everyone to be able to continue reading and enjoying all of our content just as they always have. But it is a new way to offer our loyal readers fun spiffs in exchange for their support. You’ll still get all the articles and lifestyle content you’ve come to expect, even if you don’t sign up. But, if you do become a member of the Squad, you’ll be treated to a VIP experience that includes discounts from OnMilwaukee partners, early access to events like Taco Fest and Food Truck Fest, along with invitations to exclusive Squad-only events and numerous other things (some of which we haven’t even dreamed up yet).

If you love food and local restaurants, you’ll also have access to special Lori Lab events. What’s a Lori Lab? Loosely defined, it’s an event, hosted by me, that features food or beverages in some fashion. Often it’s a sneak preview of something new; but it could also be a cooking class, a special dinner or a unique collaboration with one of the many great restaurants in our city.
