Lululemon Athletica, a retailer featuring clothing for yoga, dancing, running and other sports, has announced plans to open a showroom in Milwaukee this April.
The Vancouver-based company chose the Third Ward for its active and alluring yoga community and will soon open at 322 N. Water St.
Unlike its regular store locations across the world, its showrooms are designed to be "a cozier version of a retail store with a limited selection of products. Showrooms are only open part of the week so that we can be out in the community meeting our neighbours and participating in local yoga and fitness classes," according to the company's Web site.
"We open showrooms to become part of the community to share our culture, work with local athletes and provide a retail location that is unique to that area. During the week, we may host private parties, plan community events, and act as local experts on where to find great yoga, pilates, fitness, or just plain good times in the neighbourhood (sic)."
