Luv Unlimited, the vintage clothing store that also sold everything from accessories to records to throwback treasures and more, is closing its Bay View shop after 16 years in business.
The decision comes after the store, found at 2649 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., suffered damage from a fire above the business on Sunday, June 7.

"There was an electrical fire upstairs which led to the store being destroyed by smoke and water," writes the store in a Facebook post on Tuesday. "Our sincere thanks go out to the Fire Department for their brave efforts. Everyone upstairs got out safe. Words can not express our thanks to all of our customers for the last 16 years. Much Luv, Sage, Becky & Birdie."
Sage Schwarm and Becky Heck, formerly the owners of Hi-Fi Cafe, opened the eclectic Bay View trading company in 2004.
Sunday's fire also destroyed local musician and bartender Matt Davis' apartment above Luv Unlimited. To help him get back on his feet, donate to this GoFundMe page and stay tuned for updates on a fundraiser coming to The Backyard.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
