Mader's German Restaurant, 1041 N. Old World 3rd St., was robbed today at 8 a.m.
According to spokesperson Anne E. Schwartz, two suspects locked employees in a restaurant freezer and stole money. There were no injuries.
"There is surveillance video that we are reviewing and we are continuing to interview witnesses," said Schwartz in a statement.
At 4 p.m. today, Schwartz released the following new information: "Two to three armed and masked suspects entered Mader's restaurant this morning at 6:44 a.m., ordered employees into a cooler, took money from the business and later fled. The suspects entered through an unlocked rear service door. The suspects were wearing long, white butcher's jackets. They also wore Halloween masks and gloves. One suspect is a Black male, the other(s) are unknown. The video is not suitable for media release, as it does not give us a good view of the suspects for identification purposes. No one was injured."
