The Malibu Open, a display of the world's top water skiers, will return to Milwaukee at the Veteran's Park Lagoon on Aug. 5-6.
The world’s top professional water ski athletes will compete in traditional slalom and long-distance jumping. Free-style jumping, barefoot skiing, hydrofoil, show ski and trick flip demonstrations round out the two-day, free event.
Similar events are usually held on private lakes, so organizers are excited to return to the Veteran's Park Lagoon for the Malibu Open. Finals for the event will be held on Saturday, Aug. 6 at 5 p.m., ending with the men’s jump finals at 8 p.m. A concert with Milwaukee native Michael Scott will immediately follow the event at 9 p.m.
The event is produced by Pro Slalom Events and sponsored by Malibu Boats. Concessions and parking will be organized by the Milwaukee County Parks Department.
