For the first time since February of 2020, the MAM After Dark series will come back to the Milwaukee Art Museum on select Fridays.
The creative series provides after-hours events with live music and immersive activations that transform the museum into a late-night party. The series kicks off with "MAM After Dark: Salsa Night" on Friday, Jan. 24 from 7 to 11 p.m.
"There's nothing quite like MAM After Dark when the energy of creativity and the community come together in our amazing space,” said Scott Schwebel, Chief Experience Officer.
Salsa Night will include dance performances and instruction by Mezclando Milwaukee, live music by flamenco guitarist Evan Christian and salsa band Orquesta Ayala, and more. The Museum’s collection and exhibition galleries will be open from 7 to 10:30 p.m., during which time guests can venture into the galleries on a scavenger hunt to discover art made by Hispanic and Latinx artists.
Light bites will be served at a chips-and-salsa bar in the Quadracci Pavilion, and additional festive food and drinks will be available for purchase at the bar in Windhover Hall and Museum Café.
Tickets are $30 for general admission in advance or $35 at the door;
$10 for Members in advance or $15 at the door.
Museum Members will receive discounted tickets, an exclusive MAM After Dark signature beverage and access to the Member Lounge.
Other upcoming MAM After Dark events include "MAM After Dark: New York Nights" on Friday, Feb. 21, and "MAM After Dark: March Masquerade" on Friday, March 21.
“I’m excited to bring one of Milwaukee’s most sought-after events back to the Museum," says Schwebel.
