At the end of August, I reported that McGillycuddy's closed its doors. This week, it reopened under new ownership.

After 18 years, the iconic Water Street bar and restaurant changed hands, and the new owners are Drew Deuster, Josh Janis, and J.J. Kovacovich, who also own the Red Rocks Saloon, 1225 N. Water St.

The three do not plan to change McGillycuddy's name or concept.

"The opportunity to be a part of the history of McGillycuddy's and carry on the tradition that's been a part of the city for the last 18 years is an honor and we have a lot to live up to," says Deuster.

McillyCuddy's will continue to offer an Irish / American theme and the promise of a great St. Patrick's Day party.

"Although the ownership may have changed, McGillycuddy's at its core will remain the same," says Deuster.

McGillycuddy's website and the social media outlets are currently under construction.
