I'm all for competition, but I couldn't help to snicker -- even feel a bit smug - when I saw that Milwaukee Magazine, just this week, announced their "Milwaukee cocktail" in the "dining extra 2007" bagged with the April edition of the magazine.

I know being a print publication, Milwaukee Magazine works a month -- even further -- ahead, but I feel compelled to toot my own kazoo here and remind that OnMilwaukee.com announced its "Milwaukee Cocktail Contest" in January.

Imitation is the highest form of flattery? Sure, but blatantly poaching original ideas leads to a bland, generic existence. At the very least, Mil Mag could have submitted their recipe to OnMilwaukee.com's cocktail contest. Not that their drink would have won, mind you.

After eying up the recipe for Milwaukee Magazine's cocktail, I have no doubt that Art Bar's Brewberry Brandy would remain the winner.
