When you live in a city nicknamed Brew City, you don't need an excuse to grab a drink – but you've got a tremendous one this weekend anyway with the return of Milwaukee Brewfest.

The beer bonanza will open its taps back up on Saturday, July 31 at McKinley Park starting at 3 p.m. (2 p.m. for VIP ticket holders), offering unlimited samples of beers, wines, seltzers, ciders, meads and more from brewers across the state, the nation and even the globe.

  • Lakefront Brewery
  • City Lights Brewing Co.
  • Indeed Brewing Company
  • Central Waters Brewing Co.
  • Samuel Adams
  • Abita
  • Brooklyn Brewery
  • St. Bernardus
  • Leinenkugel's
  • Shiner
  • 3 Floyds

In addition, Milwaukee Brewfest will also host a collection of timed taps, announced on the event's Facebook page. Some of the timed taps include a FiftyFifty Brewing Company 2019 Eclipse Vietnamese Coffee Imperial Stout, a Jester King Brewery Year 10 Anniversary Saison, a Broken Bat Brewing Company Darryl Strawberry Kettle Sour and two vintage timed taps from Lakefront Brewery: a 2016 Brandy Barrel Aged Imperial Pumpkin and a 2018 XXX Black Friday Reserve.

Plus, to help soak all those unlimited samples up, Brewfest will have several food vendors on site – including Wisconsin Fried Cheese Curds, Ian's Pizza, Frankies Restaurant and Catering, and El Taco Feliz, amongst others – along with live music, beer exhibits and other entertainment to provide a party for more than just your taste buds.

Tickets are currently on sale at Milwaukee Brewfest's website, costing $65 for general admission ($75 day-of) and $85 for VIP admission ($95 on Saturday). VIP admission, in addition to the free sampling, offers an extra hour of pour perusing, an exclusive lounge area and a unique dated collectors glass.

Matt Mueller Culture Editor

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
