The Milwaukee Bucks are honoring the franchise's 50th anniversary this year, and they'll tip off the celebrations at their third annual Bucks Summer Block Party on Saturday, June 10, in the streets outside the team's Schlitz Park offices.
The popular summer event will feature appearances by past and present Milwaukee players, broadcasters and team staff. Those scheduled to attend are Rookie of the Year candidate Malcolm Brogdon and fellow guards Gary Payton II and Rashad Vaughn, along with Bucks legends Vin Baker, Bob Dandridge, Marques Johnson and Desmond Mason, who will sign autographs and interact with the crowd.
There will be live local music, kids’ games and activities, a special team history and museum display, the Bucks Pro Shop tent, a surprise 50th anniversary announcement and food and drink from area vendors, as well as the entire Bucks Entertainment Network.
The Bucks revealed their new uniforms at the 2015 Summer Block Party and officially broke ground on the new arena at last year’s event, so, besides the family-friendly fun, there’s sure to also be news that excites fans of all generations. Fans that RSVP enter for the chance to win a Bucks 50th anniversary framed collectible, which features an autographed photo of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, a swatch of game-worn shorts from the 1971 championship team and a replica 1971 NBA Finals ticket.
