Milwaukee Street in the Third Ward is being transformed into a boulevard to make it more consistent with the rest of the neighborhood and help with traffic calming.  The new boulevard will have one driving lane and one parking lane with landscaping in the middle.

The project, that runs from St. Paul Avenue to Menomonee Street, is scheduled to begin next week on Oct. 21. The project is estimated to be completed by Nov. 23. 

The new boulevard will contain six landscaped medians with automated in-ground irrigation systems, and a variety of trees, shrubs and perennials located in all of the new median locations all surrounded by a concrete border.  Ornamental fencing surrounding the beds will match what is already used on Broadway through the Third Ward.

Parking will be restricted on Milwaukee Street until the project is completed.
