OnMilwaukee.com reported last week that the Lakefront Brewery was taking over operations for the Friday night fish fry. For 14 years, it was run by Vecchio Entertainment, headed by Russ Davis.

"I would have loved to continue to operate at the brewery. I had some great ideas for changes to the menu," says Davis.

Davis says he will implement these new ideas into his new concept at Rio West Cantina, 2730 N. Humboldt Blvd. The new restaurant will be called Milwaukee Beer Bistro.

Rio West will close on Wednesday, Dec. 18 to undergo remodeling. It will reopen for its annual kids' New Year’s party on New Year’s Eve. The kid-friendly aspects of Rio West Cantina was always a draw for msny local parents – including myself.

The Milwaukee Beer Bistro will have a grand opening on Thursday, Jan.  9. Stay tune to OnMilwaukee.com for more information about this new bar and eatery.

"And we still offer our other great fish frys at Hubbard Park Lodge and the Twisted Fisherman," says Davis.
