OMC thinks 4-year-old Sophia Smith -- a Brewer fan with a heart of gold according to her mom -- is an awesome kid and the perfect choice for April's "Mini-Milwaukeean of the Month."
Every time Sophia drives by Miller Park with her family, she yells "the roof is open!" According to her mom, Sara Smith, she is very excited about the Brewers' new season.
"She likes baseball, but her favorite player is Jon Smoltz because we have his bobble head," says Smith. "The Braves are also her Grandpa Bruce's favorite team. Her daddy is working on her though."
Sophia likes to wrestle, play Barbies, sing to her CDs ("Veggie Tales Silly Songs" is her fave) and eat candy. She also likes "The Backyardigans," a television show on Noggin, and her favorite movie is "Barbie Fairytopia."
"Sophia has a good heart. She likes to share to make people happy," says Smith.
Sophia loves spending time at the Milwaukee Public Museum, the Betty Brinn Childrens' museum, and Atwater Beach in the summertime. She lives in Whitefish Bay with her parents and 20-month-old brother, Adlai.
"Adlai calls every sport 'sticky-ball' because he always gets stickers with balls on them. Hopefully he will also be a sports fan like his sister," says Smith.
