On Wednesday, May 3, the Chicago Tribune featured a "Good Eating" section cover spread on the Milwaukee Public Market. Chicago is considering creating a year-round market of its own.

It begins: "At lunchtime on a Friday, the Milwaukee Public Market buzzes with activity. People queue politely for panini at Ceriello, the stall that sells Italian delicacies, or get in line for gumbo at the St. Paul Fish Company, the seafood stall. There are plenty of other choices too. Some shoppers drift upstairs with their lunches to the sunny, palm-lined atrium to find a place to eat. The air hums with conversation as the tables fill."
