For 46 years, the Morning Glory Art Fair has presented the work of dozens of local artists annually in an event that for many years was held on the grounds of the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts.

This year’s event, Aug. 14-15, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., will show the work of 135 artists selected via a juried process, in the plaza outside the Fiserv Forum, 1111 N. Vel R. Phillips Ave.

The Fair features artists who work in painting, jewelry, glass, fiber, photography, wood, ceramics and many other media. The event is organized by the Wisconsin Designer Crafts Council and OnMilwaukee is a proud sponsor.

Here are five reasons you shouldn’t miss this year’s Morning Glory Art Fair:

1. The location

The 80,000-square foot plaza outside the Fiserv Forum is clean, spacious and offers the great amenities of the adjacent Deer District. Enjoy the food, drink and fun on tap at places like Good City Brewing, the Mecca Sports Bar, the beer garden and Drink Wisconsinbly.

3. Fiserv Forum tours

4. The new emerging artists tent

Morning Glory has established a partnership with the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee to highlight emerging artists. The UWM Emerging Artist Tent will showcase five student artists, including a sculptor, printmaker, painter, ceramicist and metalsmith.
