After nine years, Moct, 240 E. Pittsburgh Ave., has sold the business to a new proprietor.
The bar and club was opened by two brothers, Sini and Nebi Torbica, in July 2004 with a vision to create an industrial-style warehouse club. At the time it was the only venue of its kind.
Guy Lamberg purchased the business and is expected to open a new restaurant as well as run a catering business from the space. The new restaurant is called Prodigal and is due to open in June.
A farwell party will be held at MOCT on Saturday, April 27 featuring DJs including DJs- Dion (D-on) Roldan, Christopher (Why-B) Gerard and Tyrone (DJ Bizzon) Miller.
Personally, I wish Nebi and Sini the best of luck in their new adventures. (Sini got a job with the Department of Defense and Nebi is finishing up a new app.) They really did a lot for the neighborhood – threw some great parties and believed in the area during its early stages of development.
