If a bunch of people in your office wear blue and gold to work on Wednesday and suddenly get sick around lunch time, well, there could be a conspiracy at work.

The Golden Eagles open the Big East Tournament at 1 p.m.  Wednesday against either Georgetown or St. John's, who meet Tuesday in a first-round game at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Marquette is seeded fifth in the tournament, which includes all 16 Big East teams for the first time.

The game will be televised by ESPN.

Marquette won both of its meetings with Georgetown; a 94-82 decision at the Bradley Center on Jan. 31 and again on Feb. 21 at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C. (78-72). In their only meeting this season, the Golden Eagles beat St. John's, 73-59 at the Bradley Center on Feb. 14.

Since joining the Big East Conference in 2005, Marquette is 3-3 in the league's post-season tournament. Including the Midwestern Collegiate, Great Midwest and Conference USA tournaments, the Golden Eagles are 15-18 all-time.

Senior guards Jerel McNeal and Wesley Matthews have both earned All-Big East accolades on Sunday.

McNeal was named to the All-Big East first team for the first time in his career. Matthews made the second team.
