It’s time to enjoy a final piece of spanakopita, perhaps some saganaki and definitely a slice of tender housemade baklava.

Mykonos Cafe, the family owned Greek restaurant at 1014 N. Van Buren St. and a serial top contender for best Greek/gyros in the annual OnMilwaukee reader’s poll, has announced that it will close after 24 years of business.

The announcement, which notes that the restaurant will be closing on Sunday, Dec. 30, was posted late last week on Facebook.
