This content is in partnership with NARI Milwaukee Spring Home Improvement Show being held Feb. 15-17 at Wisconsin Expo Center.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, the Pantone color of the year is "Living Coral." A vibrant yet mellow color, PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral is supposed to embrace us with warmth and nourishment to provide comfort and buoyancy in our continually shifting environment.

Whether you want to add bright color or not, there really isn’t much of a better place to get inspired for colors than at the upcoming NARI Milwaukee Spring Home Improvement Show hosted Feb. 15-17 at State Fair Park.

Here are five things to think about and check out at the show that are sure to inspire you to add some color to your home.

2019 Sherwin Williams Color of the Year Displays

If you are looking for an easy way to update your space or home, you really can’t get much more simpler than paint. And lucky for you, Sherwin Williams will certainly have plenty to get you thinking about what you could do! They even have their own color of the year!

This year's color is a warm terracotta color with ancient, elemental roots, Cavern Clay SW 7701. "Cavern Clay is a nod to midcentury modern style, but with the soul of the American Southwest, which together creates a desert modern aesthetic" according to Sherwin Williams. Ok, sold.

Be sure to check out the "Color of the Year" displays that are dreamt up and designed by local area design students.

Tile

Adding a pop of the Pantone color of the year "Living Coral" could also be done to brighten things up. What about doing this via a direct tactic on your wall: tile! You could check out The Tile Group, Do It Yourself Bathroom Center or any number of other providers at the show to see what is latest and greatest in the world of tile.

Flowers

Spring will be here before you know it – and the perfect pop of color in your garden would be gorgeous. You could talk to Breezy Hill Nursery, Piala’s Nursery & Garden Shop and more to grab some ideas so you can hit the ground running as soon as the heat hits. Hopefully that is sooner than later!

Furniture and pillows

If adding a beautiful bold sofa isn’t up your alley, you could also add a colorful splash through something smaller in your home. Some fluffy pillows, a storage solution or throw blankets could add just the oomph you are looking for – and Ethan Allen is sure to offer up some options big and small.

Big and bold exteriors

OK, hear us out. If you love the serene and comforting colors of taupes, (hello, Cavern Clay!) grays and whites, why not add an exterior focal point? A shutter, a front door, a pop of delight in your pool tiles? We’re sure the variety of pool, concepting companies and designers at the show can help you get on your way.

Carolynn Buser is one of Milwaukee's loudest and most adamant cheerleaders (don't dare try to disagree). She's the primary voice behind much of OnMilwaukee's social media and content direction, and apologizes in advance if she can be too sarcastic at times.

What else? She's a wine lover, closet trashy novel reader, beauty supplies addict and devourer of cheese (shocker for a Wisconsin born and bred girl, right?). She's also a bit of a foodie, which is a word most of you hate, we know. She works as hard as she plays - and that includes in the gym! So, you've probably seen her at one of the area's newest restaurant openings (and yes, she will share her opinions good or bad) or enjoying a cold one at a local pub.

All in all, Carolynn's a believer in positive thinking and will do her best to smack down your negative ones while writing about her city, her loves, quests and more.
