With high-quality films like "Avatar: The Way of Water," "A Man Called Otto," "Plane," "M3gan," "Puss in Boots 2," "The Fabelmans," "Women Talking" and more in theaters, you shouldn't need an excuse to boogie over to the big screen. But in case you do, here you go: It's National Popcorn Day, and in its honor, several theaters are offering sweet deals on this salty treat.
For instance, at the Oriental Theatre, all Milwaukee Film members seeing a movie today (currently showing "A Man Called Otto," "The Whale" and "Women Talking") will also receive a free small popcorn to enjoy during their film. To become a member and to check screentimes, click here.
Marcus Theatres and its multiple local locations will also get into the National Popcorn Day spirit today, offering a free 44 oz. popcorn to all attendees and moviegoers on Thursday.
And if you're popping by AMC's Mayfair location today, the mall movie theater is offering 50 percent off its regular and large popcorn buckets.
Savings at the movies: It's not just for Tuesdays anymore! (Or at least this week it's not.) So enjoy your show and enjoy a pile of crunchy, buttery, salty popped whole grains.
If every movie theater had a guy serving popcorn like this, people would return to the movie theaters in record numbers âºï¸ pic.twitter.com/ngK4ro8asQ — Peter Sciretta (@PeterSciretta) January 2, 2023
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
