It's a sandwich name from Milwaukee's past and present.  Suburpia, which re-entered the Milwaukee-area in 2005 (the chain had nearly 20 locations in the 1970s and '80s), will open at 2264 N. Prospect Ave. "soon," according to a sign on the window.

Just across the street from Whole Foods, the space most recently was home to an East Side location of Soup Bros.

Suburpia's 10853 W. Blue Mound Rd. location is a lunch hot spot in Wauwatosa.

A life-long and passionate community leader and Milwaukeean, Jeff Sherman is a co-founder of OnMilwaukee.

He grew up in Wauwatosa and graduated from Marquette University, as a Warrior. He holds an MBA from Cardinal Stritch University, and is the founding president of Young Professionals of Milwaukee (YPM)/Fuel Milwaukee.

He owns a condo in Downtown and lives in greater Milwaukee with his wife Stephanie, his son, Jake, and daughter Pierce. He's a political, music, sports and news junkie and thinks, for what it's worth, that all new movies should be released in theaters, on demand, online and on DVD simultaneously.
