Almost a year after announcing her departure from her longtime gig at FOX 6, former morning news host and anchor Nicole Koglin has found a new job at a new local media home: CBS 58.

Koglin will take on the newly created post of Director of Strategic Initiatives at CBS 58, which will "oversee all aspects of station projects and partnerships," according to a release from the station.

A Menomonee Falls native, Koglin joined the FOX 6 WakeUp news show in September 2004, serving as a fixture on WITI's airwaves for more than 15 years as an anchor and host on the local morning news show as well as FOX's talk program "Real Milwaukee" when it premiered in 2010. She announced her departure from the station last March, with July 31 marking her final on-air day at FOX 6 and, according to her posts at the time, her "last day in TV news."

Thankfully, that didn't appear to be completely true as, in addition to her new role as the station's Director of Strategic Initiatives, Koglin is expected to also be back on local TV screens making regular appearances on CBS newscasts – though in what specific on-screen role and covering what general topics has yet to be announced.

"I am so thrilled to join the CBS 58 team," says Koglin, in a release. "The station is headed in an excellent direction, carving out a real identity in this community that I care so much about. What an amazing opportunity to be part of the growing process!"

“As a Milwaukee native, Nicole truly understands our community,” said
CBS 58 general manager Anne Brown, in the announcement. "She brings a long history of real connection to the people of Southeastern Wisconsin which will serve her well in her new role."

So local media fans, you didn't have to miss Koglin long. Congrats to Koglin for her new gig – and stay tuned for more details on her return to television.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
