For the ninth straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee, presented by the restaurants of Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, dining guides, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as voting for your "Best of Dining 2015."

A brand new takeout restaurant opened quietly last week at 3070 N. Martin Luther King Dr. in the former home of Hoops Carryout. The original Nino's Southern Sides is located at 4475 N. Oakland Ave. in Shorewood.

Nino’s Express is a carryout-only restaurant operated by Valeri Daniels-Carter, owner of V & J Foods Inc., a company which also operates numerous Burger King and Pizza Hut locations, as well as Haagen-Dazs and Coffee Beanery stores.

Nino’s Express features fried chicken and pork chops, as well as a number of unique items (hot links, nachos and wings) available at the Express location only.

Nino’s Express is open Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 7 p.m.
