This morning, GQ published an interview between former Grantland head and future HBO sports talking head Bill Simmons and President Obama.
The entertainingly casual interview between the two amusingly hits on several topics, from balancing family life with running the nation, the role of social media in politics, the Bulls (obviously), gun control, White House conspiracy theories and his love of "Game of Thrones" – just in case there were some unconvinced of his status as hippest president.
However, one early portion of the interview – in which Obama discusses balancing the many duties of president and Simmons, as he famously does, shifts the conversation to a sports reference/analogy – will catch the ear of Packer Nation in particular. Here's the exchange (shortened for the important Packers part):
SIMMONS: So you’re like Gregg Popovich. Although he does get mad at sideline reporters.
OBAMA:[laughs] He does. So do I. [laughs] Yeah. Or maybe [Aaron] Rodgers in the pocket, in the sense of you can’t be distracted by what’s around you, you’ve got to be looking downfield. And I think that’s a quality that I have—not getting flustered in what’s around me.
Somewhere in Chicago, Jay Cutler cries a little inside.
There's probably been a better time to compare oneself to Aaron Rodgers (prime opportunity to make a cutting "overrated/drops the ball" jab in the comments, politically conservative readers!) but oh well.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
