Ross Bachhuber and Melissa Bucholz hope to open a new bar and cafe called Odd Duck in the old Future Green space, 2352 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.

The two worked together at Cafe Centraal, 2306 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., where Bucholz served as the cafe manager and Bachhuber was the chef.

I spoke to Bucholz today and she shared basic information about the new bar and cafe.

The cozy restaurant will have 15 tables and a bar that will accommodate 20. Odd Duck – which was the nickname of Bucholz's little sister – will also have a patio.

The food will be a mix of meat and vegetarian / vegan small plate options and "super rad sandwiches," according to Bucholz. The menu will change daily.

Bachhuber and Bucholz hope to open by April 1.

"Fingers crossed," says Bucholz.
