One million women (many in pink hats) and men (some in pink hats) marched around the world – from Washington D.C. to London to Mexico to Riverwest – on Saturday, Jan. 21, President Donald Trump’s first day in office.
The dispute over attendance numbers seems unimportant when looking through the lens of the participants who captured not only massive crowd shots, but also photographed the core of why so many people came out to march.
"There was a great poster at the March that said 'We may have all arrived on different ships, but we're all in the same boat now,'" says Katie Rose, who attended the march in DC. "We're here together, and it's time to take care of each other."
Many Milwaukeeans hit the road and traveled to Madison, Chicago or D.C. to show their solidarity. Here are some great photos of the various marches taken by local women.
