Tista is a more than just a Milwaukee DJ.

Sure, he’s opened for acts like Hardwell, Steve Aoki, Ilan Bluestone, Flux Pavilion, Dada Life, Chris Lake, Weiss, AC Slater, Golf Clap, Wax Motif and more, but for the last few years, he’s also been a change agent and an advocate, bringing awareness to drug and opioid addiction via his organization Drop the Needle and hosting monthly events through Non-Pop that help to raise money for nonprofit organizations from the City of Milwaukee.

So, yes, Tista (real name: Bryan Garay) is about Milwaukee, community and – of course – music. In this episode of "Over a Beer," he talks with host and OnMilwaukee culture editor Matt Mueller about his love of music, the particular song that made him want to pursue DJing as a career, the origins of his name, his work in addiction awareness and much more.

It's all inside this episode of "Over a Beer," a new interview series that captures the high life in and around Milwaukee. The series is proudly presented by Miller Brewing Company and OnMilwaukee.
