In our weekly brainstorming meeting this morning, I asked our editorial staff if there was a such thing as too much Packers coverage right now. Leading up to the Super Bowl, we all agree, there is not.

It's true that OnMilwaukee.com is not a dedicated sports site. One of our reporters, Drew Wagner, covers predominantly sports, while freelancer Dave Begel writes a weekly column. But most of us are sports fans, and some of us are rabid Packers fans, so we all have something to say. And, as I write this, I notice that four of the 10 top clicks on OnMilwaukee.com are Packers related -- so apparently our readers want more, too.

And that's exactly what we'll give them.

It's just slightly complicated for two reasons: First, our annual Bar Month begins on Tuesday, so we're tasked with splitting time between the Packers and increased bar coverage. Second, since we're not a sports-heavy site, we're not sending anyone to Dallas, and we will aim to focus on the "outside the lines" type of Packers coverage that you might not read elsewhere.

Really, though, it's more fun this way. Some of our stories will merge Bar Month and Super Bowl coverage. Others will reflect on our own personal experiences and finding ways to integrate the Packers into our "franchise" stories (wait for Monday!). Some will talk about history and the business of pro football and how it affects Wisconsin. And of course, there will be predictions. Lots of them.

However, if you're not a Packers fan, you might feel a little overloaded on OnMilwaukee.com between now and next Sunday. Sorry about that. You've probably already noticed how we've temporarily changed our site colors to green and gold. It's true that we'll continue to write about plenty of non-football stuff, too, for the next nine days. But yes, we'll be pretty Packery for a little while.

Because how often does this happen? In my life, so far, exactly thrice. So it's a pretty big deal.

We're having some fun with the Super Bowl, and we hope you'll enjoy the ride, too. Go Pack!
