OnMilwaukee.com and Maker's Mark® have partnered for a special promotion all October called "Paint The Town Red." We selected 10 of Milwaukee's best mixologists, asked them to share their trademark bourbon recipes, and now, we're giving you a chance to vote for -- and win $50 from -- one of their respective bars. Our jobs during this month were fun, too: we sampled each of the cocktails and are happy to tell you all about them.

To enter to win, just click here and vote for your favorite recipe. And make sure to visit these 10 bars and try these most unique of Maker's Mark cocktails, too. You'll be glad you did!

Caramel Covered Apple

2 parts Maker's Mark® Bourbon
1 part Vanilla Schnapps
1.5 part Apple Pie Liquor
1.25 part Cranberry Cocktail

Mix all ingredients together and shake in to a martini glass drizzled
with caramel.

Jonathan Zapf's Maker's Mark creation came as the result of trial and error.

Zapf, a bartender at Brewski's Steak House, 6240 W. Bluemound Rd., finally settled on this concoction, which he says works for both men and women, before or after dinner.

"It's probably not something to enjoy with a steak," he says, "but would work well before your meal and works well as a "dessert drink," too."

The cranberry and caramel make for a sweet contrast to the subtle bite of bourbon.
