For the third straight season, the Milwaukee Panthers baseball team will help the Milwaukee Brewers open Spring Training at Maryvale Baseball Park in Arizona.

The Brewers officially announced the 2017 Spring Training schedule earlier this week, getting Cactus League play underway against the Panthers Friday, Feb. 24, at 2:05 p.m. CST.

"We have really enjoyed competing against the Brewers each year," Milwaukee head coach Scott Doffek said.

"The whole experience remains outstanding since we started this three years ago and they treat us with such class. To be able to play versus their hometown heroes is something each and every one of our guys will never forget. We remain very thankful for the opportunity and look forward to playing at Maryvale Baseball Park again this year."

When the teams squared off in 2015, it marked the first time the Brewers faced a collegiate team in an exhibition game since 1983 when they played Arizona State University. A year ago, the Panthers held the early 2-1 lead before the Brewers prevailed.
