The After Hours Rotary Club of West Allis, in partnership with the City of West Allis, will host Pawtoberfest on Sunday, Sept. 29 at the West Allis Farmers Market, 6501 W. National Ave., from noon to 4 p.m. with pet-friendly activities, vendors and non-profit organizations. 

The pet-focused event features around 30 pet and animal-themed vendors, over a dozen local non-profits and rescue organizations, pet activities (such as a pet blessing, pet photobooth and pet caricatures), pet-themed raffle baskets and a meat raffle every half hour, demonstrations from Milwaukee County Sheriff’s K9 Unit and Zoom Room Dog Training, live music from Paul Bast , an appearance by Miss West Allis, food trucks, and craft beer from OPE! Brewing Co. and Perspective Brewing Co. 

Below is the schedule of events: 

  • 12 p.m. - Opening and welcome 
  • 12:15 p.m. - Pet blessing by St. Rita’s Church 
  • 12:30 p.m. - Milwaukee County Sheriff’s K9 Unit demonstration 
  • 1 p.m. - Interviews with Rotary Polio Plus and various pet rescues 
  • 1:15 p.m. - West Allis Heating & Air Conditioning Hottest Dog and Coolest Cat Fashion Show 
  • 1:45 p.m. - Interviews with various pet rescues 
  • 2 p.m. - Milwaukee Dog Training Club demonstration 
  • 2:30 p.m. - Dog contests: Loudest dog, longest ears, husky vs. bulldog sing-a-long contest 
  • 3 p.m. - West Allis Zoom Room demonstration 
  • 3:30 p.m. - Basket raffle announcement
  • 4 p.m. - Closing ceremony
