About a year ago, I wrote an article questioning why Pedrano's, 600 S. 6th St., didn't attract diners like other Mexican restaurants in the Walker's Point area. Conejito's, La Perla, La Fuente and Botanas consistently drew large crowds, but Pedrano's was often empty.

Based on the scarcity of visitors, it's no surprise that the long-time business closed recently and is currently going under reconstruction. According to Maria Monreal-Cameron, the former owners of the now-defunct mojito bar Kaña will open the space before the end of the year as a Mexican bar and restaurant.
