About one year ago, The King & I moved one block west of its old location, 823 N. 2nd St., to 830 N. Old World 3rd St.

Then, just a few months ago Senorita Pepper's Southwest Grill took over the old King & I space. Now, though, the short-lived Tex-Mex restaurant is closed.  According to a sign on the window, owner Derek Phoungphol is looking to lease the space to another restaurant.

Pepper's never seemed to find its niche or groove, and let's hope that another establishment can rework this prime Downtown space.
