Love pie?  Then you’re likely to love Pie a la Madison, a pre-Pi Day event presented by The Wisconsin Bakers Association (WBA) and Madison College.

The event, which features pie samples from 10 Wisconsin bakeries, will take place at Madison College, 1701 Wright St. in Madison, on Sunday, March 3. Various ticket times are available between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. 

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Baking & Decorative Arts Program at Madison College along with the Wisconsin Bakers Association and the Wisconsin Bakers Foundation. 

Participating bakeries (and their pies) include: 

  • Bakehouse 23 (South Milwaukee): Salted Caramel Banana Cream
  • Breadsmith (Appleton): Peach
  • Elsie Mae's Sweet Shop (Lake Mills): S'mores
  • Neat-O's Bake Shoppe (Baraboo): Blueberry
  • Norske Nook Restaurant & Bakery (DeForest): Raspberry Cream Cheese
  • Papa Brunk's Bakery (Janesville): Strawberry Rhubarb
  • Pink Mocha Cafe (Hartland) French Silk
  • Stella's Bakery (Madison): Pecan
  • Sugar River Country Bakery (Monticello): Cherry
  • Sweet Pea's Pies (Mayville): Caramel Apple Crumble

In addition to pie samples, guests can also enjoy flavored milk samples from Prairie Farms, access to pie demonstrations in the Baking Lab, a pie walk, raffles, a coloring contest for kids and the opportunity to meet Jason “The Pie Guy” (head baker at Stella’s in Madison).  Music at the event will be provided by Melodies n Mayhem Entertainment. Coffee and Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream will also be available for purchase.

Advance tickets are $35 and available for purchase online. Each ticket includes admission to Pie à la Madison (during a specified tasting time), 10 pie samples and a pie lanyard to keep track of pie samples.  

VIP tickets are also available for $50 each. They include all of the benefits above, plus express check-in, an exclusive event t-shirt, a squishy pie stress reliever and a token good for one free scoop of ice cream or a small coffee.

For those who would prefer not to attend the event, a curbside pickup option is available between 1 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 3. These limited pie sampler packages are $35 each and can be purchased online.
