{image1}For the fourth year in a row, OMC is accepting submissions for its Milwaukee Poetry Contest. Poems -- which must be about Milwaukee or include the word "Milwaukee" -- will be accepted via e-mail through Sept. 26.

"The level of talent in this city continues to amaze us. OnMilwaukee.com is thrilled to celebrate and reward local writers through the city's only 'Milwaukee' poetry contest," says contest organizer Molly Snyder Edler.

Area residents will compete for a first prize that includes a $100 gift certificate from Harry W. Schwartz Bookshops. A runner up will win $40 gift certificates from Trocadero and Barossa.

Poets are encouraged to submit poems via e-mail to poetry@staff.onmilwaukee.com.

A panel of poets will review poems the week of Sept. 26, including local poet Sue Silvermarie, WUWM "At Ten" producer Sea Stachura and the OMC editorial staff.
